God has saved and called the church for the purpose of worship (1 Peter 2:9-10). Worship is at the heart of the church’s existence and mission.
Ministry
Praying For Unbelievers!
Christians desires that the people around them will come to Christ, “Then Agrippa said unto Paul, Almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian.
Praying For The Addicted!
In the past twenty years of The Prayer Closet, I’m asked regularly about one topic. It is the one that people contact me about and ask me to pray about the most. It is addiction. People continually ask me, “How do I pray for a person who is addicted?”
Holding On To Unity
As a member of Christ’s church, it is your responsibility to strive to maintain the unity of the church. It is your obligation to always be “endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace” (Ephesians 4:3).
Praying For Hospitals
This may sound like an unusual topic for a prayer newsletter. Perhaps even an unusual prayer target for believers. However, I’m deeply convicted that believers and churches should pray over the hospitals and medical facilities in our cities and communities.
Learning For Laodicea
Laodicea is the most well known of the churches mentioned in Revelation 2-3. When you mention Laodicea, you immediately think about lukewarm water – not hot or cold.
Promises To A Struggling Church
As I’ve read and studied through Revelation 2-3, it strikes me, that Jesus addresses a variety of churches. He speaks to different churches in different locations.
Reviving The Dead
Of all the churches in Revelation 2-3, there is no mention of persecution against Sardis. The text does not refer to any type of outward opposition.
Encouragement For Faithful Believers
Overwhelmed. Tired. Frustrated. Discouraged. These words describe the remnant in the church in Thyatira. Jesus speaks of this remnant in Revelation 2:24, “But unto you I say, and unto the rest in Thyatira, as many as have not this doctrine, and which have not known the depths of Satan, as they speak: I will put upon you none other burden.”
The Compromising Church
By His grace and power, Jesus Christ established a church in Pergamum. Founded in 29 AD, this city held the honor of being the provincial capital of Roman Asia.
